What to Expect at your Initial Consultation
The first thing we will do after our initial contact is book a time to meet for an initial 30 minute consultation. At this time you will meet with owner and head artist, Michelle Mai, to talk about your vision and what you are hoping to achieve from our services. If a different lead artist will be performing your services they will also be joining in for the consultation. If you would prefer, we can also opt to do your consultation over e-mail or telephone.
Below is a breakdown of what you should expect to cover at your consultation:
- We will have you fill out a basic beauty questionnaire to provide us with information on your style and vision as well as address any concerns you may have.
- Afterwards we will confirm the number of services to be performed and answer any questions you may have.
- At the end of our consultation we will discuss a date and time to meet again for a trial run for makeup and/or hair services for your event. We typically like to do trials within a month or two of your event date. We ask for a non-refundable fee of $100 to secure your trial date and this will also lock-down your Wedding date until the day of your trial. This cost will also be deducted from your final bill.
What to Expect at your Trial
Once we have met for your initial consultation and you have paid your fee to book the trial, we will schedule a time for your trial with your lead artist(s). At your trial you will meet with your lead artist(s) of choice to create your look for the day of your event. There is no time limit for your trial; we will take as long as we need to ensure that you are happy with the look we have created.
Below is a breakdown of what you should expect to cover at your trial:
- Before beginning your trial we will confirm any skin sensitivities or allergies you may have to any products so that we can ensure that we are using the correct products for your skin and hair.
- While we are performing your trial feel free to stop us at any time if you are not happy with the direction we are going in. Don’t worry, you will not hurt our feelings, in fact, you are helping us!
- We may try several different looks at your trial, and we will make sure to photograph and document every look that we try and like so that we will remember it for the day-of.
- Once we are finished with your trial, feel free to wear your look throughout the day and get as many opinions as you can. You are welcome to give us any feedback so that we may take note of what you liked or didn’t like. That way when we are ready to perform your services on your event day, we can ensure that everything will run smoothly!
- After your trial we will finalize our bridal contract and then we will send a final invoice for your services as well as the cost for your 50% retainer. Please remember that we will require that your retainer be paid in full in order to completely secure your wedding day services. This cost will be deducted from your total bill.
More FAQs
* It’s best to book services at least 4 months in advance, especially for spring/summer weddings as they tend to be the busiest months and book up very quickly! Trials should also be booked at least 1 month before the wedding date.
* The more information you can provide when you contact us, the better we can serve you. Please remember to include: Date of wedding, Time, Location, and number of services required.
* We currently travel to you for all of our Consultations and Trial sessions (travel fees may apply if more than 25 miles). We always recommend doing a trial before your wedding date, it will make things run more smoothly and help us be prepared on your big day so we can be as efficient as possible. We do offer separate pricing for just trials, and if you choose to move forward with a wedding package it will be deducted from your final bill.
* If you choose to book a trial with us after your consultation, we ask for a $100 non-refundable deposit to secure your trial date and this will also lock-down your wedding date up until your trial day. If you fail to notify us that you are unable to make it to the trial and/or stand up our artist, we will need an additional fee to book another trial.
* After the trial we will send an invoice for your services as well as the cost for your 50% retainer fee. The retainer of 50% of your total bill must be paid in-full to completely secure your Wedding day services!
* There will be a $25 charge for any bounced or returned checks.
* A $25 late fee will apply for every 30 minutes that our team is left waiting on clients for trials and appointments that are booked.
* We understand that plans can change, if you need to cancel services we require at least 1 months notice, otherwise a $150 cancellation fee will apply.
* Why is the cancellation fee so high?
- When we are forced to cancel a booked date with little notice we often do not have time to fill the open slot with another appointment, meaning that time and money is lost. Our cancellation fee simply aids in our loss of revenue for the day.
* Do you charge fees for extra artists?
- Yes. In the case that there are time constraints and just one artist is unable to complete the amount of services in time, we may bring on an assistant artist for an additional $25/hr.
- We travel for free within 20 miles of Seattle. Beyond 20 miles, we charge by the standard IRS mileage rate of 55.5 cents per business mile driven. If there are additional travel fees such as tolls or ferry rates on the way to perform your services, you will be responsible for reimbursement.
- No, we currently do not have a minimum asking rate to book your services, but please keep in mind, we book on a first come, first served basis. We do not consider any services completely booked until our contract is signed and the retainer is paid in full.
